Data policy

Polity holds public information about public office: officials, elections, results, constituencies and parties, each with its source and licence notes.

Reuse

You may read, cite and link to anything on Polity. Please cite Polity and the original source shown on each record. Bulk reuse goes through the Data API or exports, under the terms of your plan.

Polity does not assume that data from third-party sources can be redistributed commercially. Source terms are recorded for every source, and commercial data licences are offered only for data whose terms allow it.

Personal data of public figures

Polity publishes information about people in their public role: offices, election contests and declared affidavit details. It does not publish personal phone numbers, home addresses or private family details, even where a source contains them.

Separation from commercial relationships

Subscriptions, enterprise contracts and profile management buy tools, data access and services. They never change search order, visibility, rankings, election data, citizen issues or any fact.
